IDC on idle

i have a few issue.

i'm getting 2-4% IDC while the car is idling fully warmed after driving around on stock 450cc. wondering if that's normal. car does idle higher after a long drive, up to around 2k to 2500k rpm.
wondering if that idc at 2-4% is causing that idle issue.

another thing, my first gear is out. it grind and comes back out. want option/suggestion on new tranny. hear the evo tranny fits well and perform better. dsm tranny just broke down to easily.


at revving check engine light comes on and goes off. and how can you tell if the knock sensor is working. it read knock retard when revving but when i floor it to around 4k -5k rpm in driving, it's reads nothing.

It isn't possible to put an EVO tranny in a DSM, but people have put EVO gears in a DSM tranny. The tranny sits on the opposite side of the motor in an EVO, it just wouldn't work.
Sounds like your first gear synchro is out, you could have your tranny rebuild with the taller evo gears if you want, but if your on a budget the best thing will be to just buy a used tranny. The dsm trannys are not junk by any means, but the cars get beat on alot so put 2 and 2 together and you get broken parts.

If you had a datalogger you could tell if your knock sensor was working, but I'm guessing you don't, so you could eyeball it and if the black goop is starting to seep out of it, then it is likely bad and should be replaced.
