Don’t know yet. We had to bang starter last race. We knew we wanted to replace starter as we had this happen a few times. Car started to run bad after a big bounce out of a rut. Then it got worse. They it shut off. But it did start in pits and we drove into trailer. Battery charger showed almost dead battery so I put on a trickle charger for the day. Fired up the car. The battery, charge, squirrel cage looking light ( I think water level? ) we’re all on. Car ran at 2500rpm. Drive up driveway, the dash warning lights went off after car ran for 1 minute, still at high idle. I shut it off. It winter and it’s outside. The alternator was just swapped and the wires and starter were all messed with from a transmission swap ( lsd ). Maybe something is loose, maybe it’s as simple as the new alternator failed and low voltage caused the issues. The high idle now if weird but my friend was poking around in the pits and maybe knocked a line off ( can’t see that making a 2500 idle rpm issue though ).

But it was a hoot and adding the front lsd was worth it! Car will get a little more weight reducing for next season and the 16g will be bumped up a little from stock boost.

Fun to watch. Thanks for posting the video. Watching the wiper speed slowly die, yeah, alternator or something in the charging system. People would never believe how hot engines and transmissions get revving them in the snow like that. We spent several winters on snowy, frozen lakes just hooning around in our 4wd Silverado. It is soo much fun.

I've seen some strange issues with alternator belts (and OEM crank dampers going bad) that will bring up the carousel (radiator) light... Super low voltage in the battery would definitely explain issues, and either an alternator, or a tossed/slipping belt would explain a lot
