I have recently purchaced another 2g talon tsi. I have owned a 1g and a evo8 before about 4 years ago. I want to run 16 lbs on my 2g. I was wondering if there are any mods I need to add to my vehicle to do so safely. I have a 255 walboro, 550 injectors, 3' turbo back exh. Can anyone throw some ideas my way. I want this to be a reliable daily driver. I just recently had the head reworked(stock). ANd installed cosmetic 4layer head gasket and installed some arp head studs. I was thinking about installing a 16g or a 20g with a front mount.

stock injectors are fine i am currently running 17 pounds daily and it runs flawlessly. 3 in exhaust, mbc, fmic, fuel pressure regulator, 255 walbro pump, dsm link on a t25 made 186 hp to the wheels.

17psi on stock injectors ? hmm... even though that t25 doesnt flow much... i still wouldn't recommend 17 psi ... IDC must be pretty high..

only 186hp?? they are rated 210 stock, I have cold air intake, mbc, stock t25,greddy bov, stock exhaust...pretty much stock everything and my car dyno'd at 222.5 to the wheels on 17psi...then again its a '97 with less than 85,000 miles so i dunno if that has anything to do with it...your hp# just seems low to me

hes also awd and your fwd theres more drivetrain loss. also they were rated at 210 flywheel

i dont see how that is possibly 222.5hp at the wheels, i think that was too the flywheel! all u did was turn up the boost... could be wrong but yea :nono:

ALL dynos read differently and can vary GREATLY, remember that the 210 rating is at the flywheel not the wheels(ALL cars nowadays are rated at the flywheel from the factory).

I'll see if i still have the printout as this was over 1,1/2 years ago, but ya it was 222.5 to the wheels, if not, I'll do it again on street machine weekend (they bring a trailer mustang dyno around) and post it, it's strange but my car car pulls a f*$k of alot harder than other local dsm owners who have alot done to their cars

is it possible they guy i bought it from (I'm in canada, car came from arizona) had a t28? ### if I'm not mistaken isnt a t28 a t25 with a bigger turbine in it? is there any way to tell? ### my "t25" pulls 17 psi all day with out dropping off at higher rpms (when I first installed my mbc it was hitting 23 psi n dropping to 20 and hitting fuel cut) and from what I've read the t25 cant hold over 16 psi steady

the t25 just cant put out enough air to boost more then 15-16 im ruining 15 psi on my t25 at the moment and i can get her to jump up to 17-20 psi in third gear if i tap on the throttle after reaching full boost but it just drops back off. But if you want to boost 16 psi it sounds like ## all set u should be safe to 20 psi when ## out cruising around and wanna show off a bit. also get a 1g bov if you haven't its a new addition to my car and its real power i can feel !!!

How about getting a picture of your turbo and posting it in this thread?

I have seen a lot of stock 2gs on a dyno dynamics if I remember right most of them were between 160-175hp. So I would say his car is "normal" for what it has done.

Dert, I have ran both turbo's and let me tell ya its night and day difference. They look the same but that T28 will throw you in your seat! Better get that checked

I've driven my buddies 96 gs-t and another friends 98 talon tsi and when my car hits boost, it hits waaaay harder than what the other guys do

It sounds like you have already done far more than is necessary for only 16psi. Factory boost for a 2G is 14psi, isn't it?
If you want to be safe, get one of my $50 logger packages with EVOSCAN so you can watch for knock. How are you correcting for the 550's? Do you have an EPROM ECU?

This is how I made 230 hp/231 ftlbs (fwd) at the wheels on a dynojet.

2.5" ebay SS o2 housing into ebay/megan downpipe (3" open).
2.5" aluminum piping
stock evo V ic
ebay nxs mbc set to 16lbs
fp race exhaust manifold
14b
450's
maf-t setup with the last dial one click clockwise (5% richer at wot)
cometic+arps

I just connected my boost guage and its reading 9.5lbs stock. I want to turn it up to 16lbs.+. Should i get bigger injectors with stock turbo? Or just keep it at 15 with stock injectors and turbo. Only mods are dowpipe for now. What fuel pump do you guys run also. Walboro?

You should be fine just turning it up assuming you have the t25/450 stock combo. 9.5lbs seems extremely low, are you absolutely sure you're only running that much?
