I Used Copper Coat on my MLS...

Okay so I put copper coat on my MLS head gasket and when I went to put the head gasket on, I ran into a problem. Meanwhile, the copper coat has dried. Can I still use the head gasket after the permatex copper coat has dried? I used a lot of copper coat, like the gasket looks like it was painted orange.. Also, the gasket has so slight marring on it from me trying to set the head down on the dowels by myself. Should I reuse or pay the stupid tax and spend the $50 for a new gasket?

Thanks for the advice. I just want to be sure before I put everything back together.

Update: I used brake clean and it took the copper coat off very easily. Then I reinstalled after inspecting for any major gouging on the gasket and found none.

Not to turn this into the effectiveness of the spray, but when I used it I always let it dry completely. And if you didn't physically hurt the gasket, its fine.

i use it to build engines at work and i will brake clean the gasket if it dries and respray (i install it wet). never had a issue. hope this helps.

I will brake clean the heck out of it tomorrow and then respray. I mean, I scraped some of the first layer of the MLS off a little but it's not deep gouging so I think it will be okay.

i like it better when you install it wet it seems to seal better i think.
