i just bought a set of "hks" cams, but is there any way to tell? any numbers?

Are you trying to figure out what cams they are? Why would you buy cams not knowing what they are? How much did you pay for them?

There should be numbers on the cams. Get those numbers and post them on here. Why would'nt you of asked the guy what kind of HKS cams they are, thats kind of important. Sounds kind of leary to me, that they might not be HKS cams. How much did you pay for the head?

Thats sounds to good to be true. Most HKS cams used go for around $250-300 just for the cams. Or you got one hell of a deal. Did you know the guy you bought this from?

i probably would of thought something was up when you bought a head for 300 bucks with a set of 600 dollar cams>? Let me guess it came with good valves, ti retainers and springs too?

Those are the markings that our stock cams have on them.

From a previous post:

2.0 DOHC non turbo cam specs all years:

Intake valve opens 26 deg BTDC and closes 46 deg ABDC for a duration
of 252 deg Cam ID mark "A" 1.4 inch cam height
Exhaust valve opens 55 deg BBDC and closes 9 deg ATDC for a duration of
244 deg Cam ID mark "A" 1.39 inch cam height

2.0 DOHC turbo 5 speed up to 1994:

Intake valve opens 21 deg BTDC and closes 51 deg ABDC for a duration
of 252 deg Cam ID mark "D" 1.4 inch cam height
Exhaust valve opens 57 deg BBDC and closes 15 deg ATDC for a duration of
252 deg Cam ID mark "C" 1.39 inch cam height

2.0 DOHC turbo automatic up to 1994:

Intake valve opens 16 deg BTDC and closes 48 deg ABDC for a duration
of 244 deg Cam ID mark "A" 1.4 inch cam height
Exhaust valve opens 55 deg BBDC and closes 9 deg ATDC for a duration of
244 deg Cam ID mark "E" 1.37 inch cam height

2.0 DOHC turbo 5 speed AND automatic 1995 and after:

Intake valve opens 21 deg BTDC and closes 51 deg ABDC for a duration
of 252 deg Cam ID mark "J" 1.37 inch cam height
Exhaust valve opens 57 deg BBDC and closes 15 deg ATDC for a duration of
252 deg Cam ID mark "J" 1.37 inch cam height


There's always the possibility your cams are regrinds, in which case the specs are normally ground into the cam underneath where the cam sprocket mounts.

Unfortunately...HKS they are NOT. You got shafted. The least the seller could've done was send the cams with a jar of vaseline for the ass reaming he gave you.
