looks good :thumb: but is it sticky at all?? i would like to do this to my stock mats because they are beyond cleaning

It's not really sticky, but if you feel it with your hand, it's kinda stiff. Not like sandpaper or anything but you know what i mean.

im thinking about going with a dye when i do mine since its gonna be down for a bit so when i do ill post of pics and info on it.

Soo i got the rs. The blueish interior. What color would look the best with my interior and last the longest without fading.

Mine has started to fade a little. I also dont have floor mats. I think i may opt to buy the factory carpet from Mitsu for my eclipse gst, rathre than paint it. Just becuase it didnt hold up the way i wanted to. If i may had coated it three times, it would be a different story. But, i guess we'll see.

There is a a clothing dye you can use call ritz. You can just put it in a spray bottle, spray the carpet, and scrub a little and it comes out looking really nice.Just use the same method as scrubing carpets for stains

I don't reccomend painting your carpet at all. I painted my floor mats and headliner and it wore off very fast. I ended up taking my floor mats out and completely reappolstering my headliner with black fabric. And yes I also used the duplicolr vinyl and fabric.

I recommend the "ritz" as well I dyed the carpet in my 94 cavalier when I had it and it came out great...I recommend having ALOT of extra rags when you do it because they will get ruined. but as said above just spray-scrub-dry and you have an amazing carpet, headliner etc.

yep I used the ritz dye mixed up in spray bottle in almost every auto I have owned just leave it in the sun for a day and let it dry real good before you put it back in

Not sure why a brown spot came up in the photo. There isnt any in real life.

Its because your flash is on. In low light you wouldn't see it. But Id recommend a 2nd coat.. Do you know they have paint that is designed for carpet? I was thinking about doing this myself. However, I have run out of time at home and for me.. well, exterior was more important. Looks good for what it's worth..

Thanks but i bought new carpet for my gsx. That was just a temporary fix for my gs.

You guys really dont wanna use paint. Even the spray on stuff you get at the parts store that is made for carpets sucks. After 2 months, mine was turning back to gray. I ended up snagging another carpet and pressure washing it for almost 20 mins, filling a big storage tote with HOT water, mixing 4 bottles of rit liquid dye in, and let it soak for almost 5 hours. This is how it came out. 2nd pic is after 6 months of heavy use and abuse. No signs of fading and the best part is that you cant stain black very easily at all.

I picked up a couple cans of the paint from pep boys last week but the weather is killing my progress

My advice would be to return them and use the money to buy dye from a local craft store. Also, pressure wash your carpet until the water running off it is clear. It took me a little over 15 mins until i started seeing halfway clean water at the car wash. You would be amazed at how much dirt that carpet holds.

No that was ripped out prior to washing the carpet. I replaced it with a thicker foam pad once I was done.

After the 5 hour bath how long does it take to dry? Should it be rinsed? Wiped down?

if you go off the directions on the back of the bottle you are suppose to rinse it until you see clear water after letting it soak. as for drying all going to depend on where you live and where you leave it to dry. find a way to hang it so that the water will drain off it as it dries. i hung it from the back of my truck and it only took a couple of hours to dry but that was when the weather was still warm out (things tend to dry faster here in the south west)

so which one is best.. i want to paint my carpet black next week but dont know with what
