Painted my rims

This is my first time ever trying something like this. My ream passenger tire was ready to blow and since I drive 65 to school and back I really needed it changed. So on my day off yesterday I went to the junk yard. As soon as you walk in is the tire section, and right there were tires that had the same dimensions as my stock swirlys, and the tread was amazing on them. The only downside was that they were a nasty gold color. So I bought them, then took them home, sanded them down and repainted them. I just wanted to share it with you guys. Sadly I’m going to be selling them, because after I did all the painting, I went to put them on and the bolt holes were a tad bit closer together my stock set up. So I have to wait to get my new tires transferred to my old rims. But here are the pics.

I use masking tape and newspaper or pages out of an old magazine

Guess you learned the difference between 5x114.3 and 5x100.

Did you happen to check the hub size too? Even if the bolt pattern was correct, the hole in the middle can be too small.

Hit up Craigslist for cheap used tires.

I dont know how to look for all that, we just looked at the tires dimensions and they were the same, but oh well, leason learned, still 30 a tire is not bad

Yes, lesson here: tire size does not have anything to do with the bolt pattern of a wheel. But I must say nice job on the paint job.

Im just going to get the tires swaped and try to sell the rims. Hopefully soon I can get tires for my real nice rims, that I already know fit.
