i know where i can get a cheap big 16g, i also know where i could get a good deal on a super t70. Since i am running the stock internals will any of these turbos be good for me or should i get a 14b? also what supporting mods would i need and could i tune with my Maf Translator? Sorry for all the questions, i just dont wanna blow my car up.

Then buy one. Its not going to be a bolt on turbo. Thats for sure.

And the OP wanted a turbo that won't blow his car up. Isnt a super t70 capable of 600+whp? I'm pretty sure he's far from having the supporting mods for that.

Once you get ready to buy the supporting mods research each mod to figure out what you should get. You need to have a goal with the car otherwise you will be buying the same parts multiple times.

IMO I wouldn't really use the MAFT to tune your car. It has many issues but it will suffice up to a certain sized injector

Ebay turbos are generally a big :nono: Inferior build quality, mixed internals, usually un balanced etc. etc. Sure it may be cheap and have a 20k mile warranty, but does that warranty include fixing your motor if a fin makes it's way into the engine and fubars it all up all after say 500 miles?

e316g... got it set at 17psi.... and man does it pull..... smoke hondas all day... it puts a smile on my face cause it turns alot of heads... due to the sound of spooling... and the bov..!!! aand not to mention..... pu#sy rate goes up... if you know what i mean...!!! LOL

The intercooler will stop it from ever getting to the engine.

Although it's probabilty rate is low it's still possible for it to occur and is not something I would want to risk at all. Bigger the chip the lower of a chance of making it through.

Yeah true, until it does get through and there goes your engine. I've seen it a few times.

LOL but why? its a killer deal... 20k mile warranty also..... trust me

Go ahead and buy it when, when you blow the turbo up, and quite possibly your engine along with it, your 190$ turbo with a warranty will have caused over 1,000$ in damage. Trust me, that warranty will never be upheld, and they would never even think of covering any damage caused.

Not to be a dick, but you don't know how many people have blown shit up with those damn things. Stop doing cheap stuff. A DSM is not a car that does well with the word "CHEAP".

I hate to say "search", but at least "research". Ebay turbos are basically ticking time bombs. Do they work if it's just conservative daily driving? Maybe. Now if you're going to actually boost around, they won't last.

Buy an exhaust, or piping from eBay or those types of parts if you want. Don't buy critical parts.

They reason they cost $190 is because of quality.

Feisty feisty, sarcasm my friend sarcasm....

There was nothing "fiesty" or sarcastic about that post. Fact is fact, $190 ebay turbos are not a smart idea.

Sure, that 2 dollar hooker across the street may get the job done, but would you want to risk it?

my friend is running an evo 3 off of ebay and has had it on for over 15k miles and is running 21psi. I unwillingly installed a ebay t3t4 50 trim in my girlfriends jetta and she had it at 22 psi at over 300whp for close to 10k miles before we traded it for a range rover. Im not saying they are good turbos but in my experience they have lasted quite well. Me personally i would rather have the real deal

ebay turbos are like putting 50 arrows onto a single bow at one time, pulling the string back, and letting loose, sure, 1 or 2 may hit the target, but the other 48-49 are completely worthless.

that aside, i don't see ANYWHERE in the original post where it says ebay turbo.
in fact, I'm guessing it isn't since he says big16g not evo3 16g.

to answer the original question, ASSUMING that it is in fact a MHI 16g and not an ebay 16g, go for it, the t70 is to big for your current setup and will require a new manifold as well.

also, stock injectors will do just fine if you leave it at the wastegate boost (~10lbs)
start turning up the boost and you need injectors, and something to log with. yes you can use the maft to tune (kinda) no, it probably isn't the best idea. and definitely don't do any tuning without a method of logging.

actually i believe he can run safely 14-15 psi on the 2g fuel system. I am currently waiting on injectors fuel pump and link and am running 1bar or 14.7 psi on my e316g. not once have i hit fuel cut and pocketlogger is showing good numbers. I believe but am not correct that the fuel system on 2g's was stronger and since the op has a 2g he could run it to 14 or so.

thank yall for all the help. I guess i should probably get that big 16g. But i know a guy that told me he would give me a 14b. Is it worth getting, i mean could i really tell much difference between it and my t25?

I have a big 16g on my car and I am happy with it, personally. Go for the big 16g if you want something that is versatile and reliable and stay far away from a gi-normous turbos until you have all the extra mods needed. For larger turbos, you require the flow necessary to supply them.

b16g spools slower then a 14b. A 14b with a very solid tune can net you close to 300WHP. That is a good number for alot of people so ask yourself what you are wanting. Also you will be needing to get a install kit. Personally i would just get a j pipe, bend the water lines, and custom make a oil feed. thats what i did and was waaaay cheaper. Also just file away the bolts on the oil drain and that will work perfectly
