alrigh so i have a 95 eagle talon tsi awd I did an engine rebuild did every thing right acording to the specs. Got every thing to go and the engine turns over but doesent start. checked the timing also the simple fuel, spark, and fuses, fuse links. Every thing checks out good but still no start. The car has SAFC 2 evo intercooler, 650 rc injectors boost controller and turbo timer. Earlier today I checked the oil and it smelled like their was gas in the oil.
would apreciatte any help thanks.

if the oil now has gas in it after trying to start it would be more than likely safe to say the engine is flooding with fuel and never getting the chance to ignite. (this is assuming you are sure your getting spark)

Check for spark. It is possible that you have one of thee plugs for the coil ,cam sensor or ac compressor hooked up to the wrong place.

If you rebuilt the engine with new rings then you are going to get gas in the oil because the rings arent seated yet. Thats also a reason why you change your oil so quickly when you do a rebuild not to mention the shavings from the new parts wearing down. No starts are usually something simple like a ground or a plug not plugged in. if you can rebuild a motor, you can get it to start. good luck man

Id check compression spark and fuel. And all wire connections. Also all vacuum lines intercooler piping. double check all your safc and timer wiring. If you have fuel spark and decent compression it should start yeah check all coil prongs for fire and order.

yea i vote compression as well then depending on what you get check timing make sure all the marks line up.

Ok thanks to all of you guys i have the timing belt off and am going to do it all over again and triple check it. Also just so you guys know this is not my car as you can see i own a 95 gst and.97gsx this is a buddys car that we rebuilded the engine this last december and it would crank but sometimes slowly with the baterry fully charged. Checked for spark and felt the spark. So last things would be timIng and compression. Also not sure how to use the safc yet but i will research that in here but i will keep you guys updated.
Oh and about the cas. Its a 95 so it does not have one.

alright so today i redid the timing belt and now it cranks way better but still no start. found out i have no spark in 1 and 4. and checked the crank sensor for voltage while cranking and i get 3.455volts. but i do remember i shaved the plate that contacts the cps like halt and inch or so. would this be a problem? also checked the coil pack and transistor and there both good.
any thoughts?

you know i had an engine apart a few years ago, accidentally droped the ratchet and it hit the crankshaft position sensor, it still shot voltage spikes but wouldnt fire, i think i got a pop or two and that was it, after checking everything out i accidentally forgot to tighten the disk that the crankshaft position sensor goes over and it fired.....my accident helped me to find a problem...it was due to a very light impact on the cps that did it in and when i replaced it everything was perfect....but of course mines a freak accident that helped me to find it anyways.. :)

Just off the top of my head you're running 650s and an afc, so what's the afc set at? Your flooding or gas smelling oil from flooding could be from not setting the afc before trying to start the car. Again not for sure until I know your settings. Simple way to set the car up for starting 450 divided by 650. That tells you that your 450 injectors are almost 70% of what your 650s are. So if your afc isn't set you're adding 30% more fuel which will flood the car. Check all the plugs make sure you haven't fouled them out. Also more about the setup will help. What size turbo, what plugs, what compression, have you checked that you have compression? If you're on the factory turbo go ahead and pull 25%-30% fuel out to keep it from flooding.

I see alot of "checking compression" wouldnt it be low since the engine was just rebuilt and the rings havent seated yet?.Just a ? i had after reading. As far as the no start problem from what i know looks like everything has be touched on. Good luck brother

Alright guys an update. So tried push starting the talon and it turned on. But no throttle response whats so ever and if you stoped it would die so its only on while in gear and running if you put it in neutral it will die. Another thing is that its still a crank no start. And put a scanner in it and the tps is at 8.6%. Any ideas?

Alright so I adjusted the tps and the car starts but if you try to press on the gas it will stall so I think I I need a afpr. Because. The fuel line going to the rail is not the oem one and it does not have a fuel filter so what do you guys think. Can I just need a afpr.? The reason I think this is because I have the fuel pressure of 63 psi

You have no filter, that is stupid. You will clog the injectors pretty quick. You do not need a different regulator because of this, you do need a filter, and you likely need to have the injectors cleaned at this point. You also said that you re set the timing belt and it cranked better. Was it off the first time? There are marks to check, it is either right or it isn't. There is no being close. IF it was off the first time than you probably have bent valves. Do a compression test. By
