Hello dragordie here new to the Forum and new to my first Mitsubishi Eclipse. (First car ever)
Been building jeeps and rock crawlers for 25 years sold everything and bought my Eclipse. My question is when driving and hitting a small bump going around a curve it feels like the rear end is on ice. Could I have a stabilizer or strut going bad? I have after market 17 inch wheels and 215x50x17 tires. Also can I run 225x55x17s on my eclipse?

God Bless our American Solders.

First, welcome to tuners!

Just looking at the picture it seems you have some kind of lowering spring. Could you take a peek and find out which strut/spring combo you have? When I first lowered my car I payed no mind to the fact I needed an alignment. My rear tires were out so bad I was on cords in about 3 weeks and I was experiencing what you are describing.. Now, when I finally removed that suspension I noticed I had two blown struts (they were used when I put them in, just cleaned up).

Its possible the previous owner put the wrong lowering springs on the car and it is effecting the ride quality.. A strut bar could help but I dont think that is the issue.. Things I would check would be suspension combo, alignment, and tire wear first..
