Problem was :Coolant was boiling/ spitting out
Changed head gasket , water pump , head studs , flushed rad ,flushed heater core , removed t-stat
Just put it back together today ..Had coolant spitting out rad cap was off , started as soon as i started the car ..I don't know what else to do or check :confused::confused::confused:

You might want to run a pressure test on it. Because there is a possibility that you may have a pin hole leak somewhere. Or you may not have burped the coolant system correctly and could still have air pockets in your system causing it to push fluid out. And if there is a small leak somewhere, the engine may be sucking in air also causing it to push out.

Are you sure your waterneck or water pipe infront of the block are ok and the seal on the waterpipe infront of the block is good? What cap are you using? Have you looked into a higher PSI rad cap? Lower temp thermostat? Check your fan voltage and fan switch?

That right there means that your headgasket is not sealing. You probably need to go have your head checked at a machine shop or make sure you tightened the head bolts correctly and to the correct torque.

I should add, I am assuming what you mean by spitting out is that it is pushing coolant out pretty quickly. Not like a little overflow.

Had the head checked , he even came to my place and checked the block (after i cleaned the head and block) ...I am using a felt pro , torqued to 72 (in 3 steps ) .t-stats etc doesn't matter this starts, as soon as the car is started..With out the cap on (for burping ) also with the heat on high..I let it warm up both bottom and top rad hose get hot , and both the hoses for the heater core....

(when burping)some times is comes out by slowly ,sometimes lots for short bursts ...(while parked cold start/warm doesn't matter)
Other times i can drive it for awhile once it stops , it will spit it all out

So is it just spilling over a little bit. Like you over filled it and it's just pushing a tiny amount out?

Or is it shooting it out? If you pull your plug wires, just crank the car with the radiator cap off and see. If it shoots it out just doing that, then there's a pretty good chance that something went wrong with the headgasket.

Were both the surfaces of the head and block clean and dry when you put the head back on? Cause if they weren't then the headgasket probably didn't seal.

1: no it will spit all the fluid out
2: i will try that tommorow
3: yes it was dry ( same guy from the shop that checked my head and block was here when i installed it) everything went good ..There should be no reason the headgasket failed ..I haven't even taken it for a drive yet , warmed and cooled (while flushing again just to double check)

Ok. Try that. But chances are if it spits it out like that then you have a bad headgasket.

What caused the headgasket to go bad in the first place? Was it just age? Or did the car over heat real bad, to the point of where it could have cracked something?

Ok , i went and tryed that nothing spit out or moved ..Tryed it a bunch of times just to make sure

I thought it was the head gasket at 1st , so i tore it down ..Did the head gasket, and water pump at the same time (the head gasket and pump were still good i changed them anyway)

I don't remember exactly but isn't there a little check valve in the line that goes to the overflow tank? If it was filled with tap water, there's a good possibilty you have a bunch of calcium build up that could be preventing a seal... Where is it blowing out from??

There is no check valve there
It may be fixed ..Mechanic told me to jack up one side , then flush and repeat..I did that probably 20 times , refilled it with coolant .burped it let it down..Let it idle for a bit took it for a drive , came back everything seems good it wasn't spiting it out or boiling ...Lmao if that was all it was i did all that head gasket work for nothing ..
