I have a 95 eclipse gst. i love my car but there is one problem i can't figure out. when driving it in 2 and further gears once it hits about 4k if i run it hard it falls on its face and then keeps going... i have no clue what is going on.. i want to redo my paint on my car and get it on the road but this is holdin me back.. please help!

Have you done a boost leak test? Have you replaced the spark plugs and/or wires with the proper NGK plugs and wires?

By: "falling flat on it's face", you mean that it just doesn't go anywhere? Feels like it hit a brick wall? Engine revs fast and car doesn't move?

it drives but it feels like it hits a brick wall then drives okay right after that.

do you have the recirculation hose hooked up or are you venting the blow off valve? Usually a backfire is caused when you try to let it vent. It sounds cool but runs like poop shit at higher rpms. The hose im referring to is shaped in an S it runs from the plastic BOV back to the fresh air located after the mass air flow sensor and air box on the passenger side.

i figured it out! the boost leak was the intercooler piping it wasn't hooked up right
:)
