So my 95gst with 105,000miles has crankwalk  and Im not sure what I should do. I dont want to spend alot of money to fix it but I Want it done right. I was thinking of rebuilding it using DSM Graveyard - Your #1 Source for DSM Parts! I would love to just swap a 6 bolt into it but I live on a tiny island out in Hawaii and theres no junkyards I can just go to and shipping on a motor is not cheap. So what would you do if you were in my place... any advice is helpfull thank you

755+300 core+shipping+core shipping+machining= get a used 6 bolt and call it a day--

are the limits of the stock 6 bolt too low for your hp goals?

ok, yea how do u know u have crank walk, the only way to really know is by tearing down the engine pretty much and, use a dial indicator, or actually pull the crank out and look at those bearings in there, MOST likely its the 1 main bearing in the middle, i believe called a thrust bearing that gets worn down, chewed up, a good way to find this BEFORE tearing the motor down, is by pulling the oil pan and looking for small metal shavings or peices.

I also dont see why you want a 6 bolt, a 7 bolt would be just as good unless your planning more than 300+

I personally like 7 bolts....

DSM graveyard. Try to talk to jon as much as you can. I like going through them on the phone, they are usually really busy and do take some time to get on to your things, so i would except it to be a good while before you get your stuff shipped to u or u reuse your old stuff and send it to them. As of right now i give them a B. But ive ordered $1500 worth of stuff from them and when i receive it i will give u my review on that. But i think there all right and good guys.

I would put money on the fact it does not have CW.

Same here. There are countless threads of people claiming that they have crankwalk because they read to many comments on youtube.

yea my engine actually was REALLY close to crank walking @ 180k i found metal in the oil pan, and pulled the crank and that bearing was chewed up and nasty, funny thing was the crank was hardly at all out of spec with the dial indicator but it was out of spec.... BUT Still its 180,000 miles and was good and drivable befor ei pulled it.... i had no clue

Not flaming just wondering, why do you think its walking? You haven't mentioned what's actually going on with the car.

Did someone tell you it was crankwalk...someone that would actually know?

Why don't you go get a gauge and measure the endplay of the crankshaft and see if it is out of it's limit?

I'm sure there is a How-to on this site on measuring the play.
