420A I can't get the block off of the trans?

I have everything unbolted and I plan to drop the block out from underneath. But I can't get the input shaft from the trans out of the block to get the block out of the car. How do I get it out?

Which bolt do I need to remove to get the axle popped? Also how do I pop the axle?

My friend, I mean this in the nicest possible way: if you can't remove an axle then you have almost no chance to rebuild an engine and have it run for any extended period of time. Please consider having someone helping you with this.

To answer your question, I pop my axles out by inserting a flathead screwdriver in between the axle and the transmission and I tap on the handle with a hammer. This will usually pop the axle right out.

Dusty I finally said screw it and tried to cut the boot but how do I get the rest out? I'm trying to get everything done either by tonight or tomorrow morning.

Go ahead and take the whole strut out. Remove the 3 bolts up top and where it bolts to the control arm. That bolt with the big washer on it is for the subframe. Don't remove that one. You need to take the axle out of the knuckle first and then pop it out the trans. Use a large screw driver or pry bar and pop the cup out the trans. It has a small clip that holds it in

I would take the assembly out...but the bolts are rust welded together and I'd try to use my air compressor but it's dead.....
