Antilag with a ridiculous timing retard..tons o' boost off line. 6 Puck semi slip and pop you are flying! Tires kinda help though....

Preloading is a cool and very good technique, but it also is not easy and needs a little practice.

Definitely need some better tires. You shouldn't be spinning with the power you have. A good rim/tire setup and about 5 more lbs of boost and a little more seat time will get you deep in the 12's.

Your MPH trap is def good enough for a 12 second 1/4mile time. Like everyone else has said, good tires will be amazing here. Get a little more seat time and you'll be golden, Don't stress MB, turn up the boost and slam those gears :)

Back in 2002-2003 a good buddy of mine went 12.69 @ 108 with his daily-driven 1G TSi AWD; Big 16G @ 18psi, pump gas, full 2.5" exhaust (no cat), FIC 550's, an AFC1, 2G MAS, and a Supra Sidemount. Simple, yet effective.

Don't be afraid to launch. Drop your tire pressure to 20-25psi, and give it hell. You're not going to break any driveline parts while launching with a 16G under 20psi unless there was a preexisting condition.

Definitely slip the clutch a bit more. Let the clutch up till its barely in the friction zone. Once you feel the car creep forward, release the clutch quick but smooth. My first time out to the track I was bogging much like you, which resulted in 2.5 second 60-footers. After some practice with slipping the clutch I pulled off a 1.6 60' on disgusting all-weather tires. I even managed to shave over a second off my ET with a 1.9 60'. You could read more about it here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drag-strip/442226-15-5-seconds-what-am-i-doing-wrong.html

But I think 12's are definitely there, you just need to get out of the hole faster.

This... :thumb:

That's how I do it, but it is a flash ECU trick. I'm not sure how you'd set it up without either Ceddymods and a DSM black box, or Tephra Mods and an Evo ECU...

Hey, if my username was YZFR1girl, i would get all sorts of feedback too :)

Also, if you find you're bogging, don't be afraid to raise your 2-step up. To me, 5500 is kind of low. On street tires, the lowest I've had mine was 5750 and have been as high as 6500. On slicks, I am usually around 7000 or 7250. I've never had problems bogging at those RPMs and cut 1.6-1.7 on street tires and low 1.5s on slicks. Also, preloading with the e-brake would work even better! The biggest thing is seat time, you'll learn your car all in good time. There is a lot of pretty good information in this thread so find what works for you!

DID anyone else notice that the AMGs front wheels were locked on take off??? LOL

Wow yea wth was that about? Line lock on an amg? He pushed those suckers through the 60 rofl

I beat this AMG Mercedes because he is an even worse driver than I am. ha!! I'll take it, though!

It doesnt matter if you win by an inch or mile ROFL

What clutch/ pressure plate setup? Looks like you shift early too. I'd routinely hit 8k+ on a hard 1g lauch. Don't be afraid to ride out first a bit. OEM valvesprings will take it, esp. with small cams and lowish boost.

Those 16g's really wake up around 25psi also. I ran my e316g at 25psi on pump 91 with a keydiver chip back in the day. 272 cams as well.

Don't be shy to "spin" with your amount of power there should not be any bad spinning, My best guess is: more throttle and slower clutch engagment, that should fix your problems.
I did run a similar time with FWD, less topspeed and old bad tires, so you shouldn't need better tires to get an better time.

I'm running an Exedy 6puck style clutch with a pressure plate that is somewhere between a 2100 and 2600. Exedy called it a "stage 2". You are right.... I short shift. The most rpm I've seen according to dsm link was 7000rpm. I do have upgraded springs and retainers so should be able to push it further. Guess I'm still feeling it out. I think I might even be shifting into second before the 60ft mark.... Which would explain some things.

you think you're time is bad... try running a 15.3 @ 118
then you'll have problems.

^^this is true LOL

Lol! Yes now that is a funny timeslip!

So we shall see if I can redeem myself in the spring. :). Then once i Figure out how to drive, will turn up the boost a little. Also looking into getting my spare transfer case rebuilt over the winter too.
