Who takes almost half a year to swap a turbo?

I do! Everybody ROFL!

Car was down back in November '07 due to a crack in my turbo oil feed line. After 2 weeks of debating whether to fix or to upgrade, I decided to upgrade to a PTE 5031. Then came the headache of shipping issues, billing issues, wrong parts, more parts needed, and my 2 hours of free time every weekend to work on it. Car was started again April of '08.

:dsm: After it's all said and done, I'm in love. 20psi DD is a thing of beauty. I have my fingers crossed about my headgasket holding out.

Thanks to Bruce and Tom for all their advice and help.

A cheap affective way to handle more boost would be to install arps. With the newer style arps you can install them without removing the head, or changing the headgasket. Just let the car sit for a day or so. Drain fluids to be safe. Remove the Valve cover and begin to remove one bolt at a time and install an arp stud in its place. The newer arps have an allen head in the top of the stud so they can be installed with the head still on. I've done this on 2 of my cars with no ill effects. Others have had success with the same tech. Make sure to follow the manual and torgue them in the manuals order and torque to arps spec

your headgasket is fine, crybaby. If you would have just towed it to my house, it would have been done in 3-4 hours. :) We should go out and tune the sumbitch too. Did you ever get a WB?

you talk to bruce lately?
