HX35 Cheap Drain Tube?

I have read through as many threads as I can put up with about the hx35 and from what I'm seeing we want at least -12an for the return line. I saw some well made lines and pricing them out I found them to be like $80 excluding shipping. I also saw if you have balance shafts still, a restrictor is not needed for the feed off the ofh.

So my question is, will this be sufficient enough for daily driving an hx35?

Drain:
1.One of these that is connected to the turboT6 Turbo Oil Drain Flange BILLET ALUMINUM | eBay

Feed with balance shafts still in the motor:

This is what I was basing the drain tube off, but it was a little steep for what I want to spend right now.

Yes... I just couldn't justify paying more for a fancy drain line than I did for the turbo itself. The 2g line is a little over 17mm ID (this exceeds the size of a 12an fitting, since they neck down to around 16mm ID) . Turbo is just as tight as it was a year ago when I installed it.
 
I made my own.
I made the fitting bolted to the dump of the turbo with 3/4 ID pipe.
Turbo rubber hose from a John Deere tractor.
90* # 12 JIC female fittings
Welded a male # 12 to the oil pan
2 hose clamps ,1 at each end.
I had to grind the motor mount to clear the dump hose
I must have 35 to 40 dollars invested

Did y'all enlarge the oil return hole in the pan?

I did not. I figured the 2G drain setup would be just as worthy as a pretty 12an setup because of the restriction 12an fittings provide. Combined with good crankcase ventilation, I don't lose any sleep over it. :boring: I'm not saying this is the perfect solution... It works for me and cost me about $10.


Oh, and I enlarged the bolt holes of the 2G flange to fit the Holset chra. I also trimmed the front motor mount slightly to prevent any rubbing.
 
Have any of you guys with the modified 2g drain tube checked your oil pressure at the turbo? That is the main reason why we target a particular size drain tube correct, to maintain the required oil pressure at the turbo?

Yeah, I elongated the holes. no leaks.

NO! you want as big of a drain as you can fit. I use a unrestricted 3an feedline from the OFH. I still have balance shafts, thats why I can pull this off. But, yes my oil pressure was in spec.:thumb:
 
It maybe and ol thread but, I'm working I this same set up and opted to go with the 2g oil line. What size and type of house did you use? Did you just clamp it at both ends?
