On a friends car ... 1997 gst ( automatic ) there is some humming or vibrating sound coming from the passenger side down by your feet. I can't look at the car because she is gone at school till this weekend, however there is nothing down there really except for AC ducting and heater ducting.

Could it be trans related? She says it just does it once in a while .. sometimes for a few minutes and sometimes only for a few seconds. The car seems to drive fine and it has around 65k on it I think. Any ideas?

not sure what it might be but i may have a similar thing happening to my '92 talon. the noise is coming from the lower passenger side and seems related to vehicle speed and the left/right attitude of the car. the noise seems to happen when i'm going down the road but it lessens or goes away when i make a motion to the left or right. i'm thinking something in the suspesion system or possibly a CV axle but can't be sure. the thing sounds like a freakin UFO from inside when i'm goin down the road LOL

Same thing here with my 90 Laser. I do know that my CV's are in need of replacement in the near future. The only time mine seems to do it is during acceleration, but if I'm holding speed you can't notice it. Anyone else ever get this?
