I have a 99 eclipse GS 5 speed manual. When I am cruising, in any gear, with the clutch out I hear a humming noise. Sounds like a bearing possibly. When I press the clutch in the noise goes away. The humming noise does seem to go faster as I accelerate. In nuetral I do not hear any humming, and it only does it when the clutch is out and Im moving. Does this sound like a bearing in the tranny? Any help would be appreciated.

No, only time it makes a humming sound is when im cruising with the clutch out. In neutral with the clutch out it makes no noises at all.

ok so I jacked up the car, got the front wheels off the ground and put it in gear. I hear no humming like that. The car sounds normal. So what does that mean?
