i did some researching and found this thread

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/356313-noise-vibration-when-accelerating.html

but i wanted to get input for myself.

i did trans fluid few months ago but havnt realy drove it. drove it today and it was fine. then juss started humming from passanger side. thought like wheel well plastic fell and was rubbing on tired. when i was driving in 3rd and noise was going and pushed the clutch in and noise went away. most likely is the clutch or throwout bearing.. what if i drive i and baby it? i need be able to drive back and forth to work.. only a few miles back and forth. i have a 1990 fwd 6bolt turbo

someone please help me if anyines has similer problems id like to hear. thanks

check for side to side and in and out play on the wheels. Could have bad wheel bearings or cv shafts. or just bring it somewhere i know you can bring it to sears and they will diagnose it for free.

+1 on wheel bearing. It could also be a throwout bearing.

Another way to test the wheel bearing theory is to slight sway side to side on the road and see if the noise changes as the weight transfers.

I had a passenger side wheel bearing going bad and it the noise would go away if exiting an offramp turning to the right, whenever I turned to the left it sounded horrid.

my boy had a similar problem and it turned out to be the input shaft bearing.

Did it make noise all the time or only when you put pressure on that side ( turning). Passenger side is vibrating when I turn to the left. I have change the axle, wheel beArings, and it's still there.

Mine does a very similar thing only instead of it going away when the clutch is depressed, mine does it whenever the car is moving. The output shaft bearing just on the inside of the tranny is bad and its been that way since I got the car (about 20K). It hasn't got any worse since I keep up with the tranny fluid.

It would make sense that when the clutch was depressed that the input shaft would not be under so much pressure from the engine and may cause the noise to dissapate but I would venture more on the TB being an issue. Does the sound happen only when moving or all the time?

i asked my friend when his TB went bad. he said i would hear it even from a stop... its kinda dissapates when i turn to the left only little bit though. if i go into neutral coasting there is no more vibration. only when the car is in gear and theres load on the wheel bearing(if thats it). i wasnt able to get out today to sears and have it checked. but i could wiggle my tiire left and right a little bit.. would i be able to see whats wrong if i jack my car up and take the tire off? if the wheel bearing was bad could i see something out of the ordinnary?

No you wouldn't be able to. Physically you wouldn't be able to see if a wheel bearing is bad. But you would be able to see if your outer tie rods or ball joints were bad.

I had the same problem with my gs.. i pressed the clutch and the noise went away.....your input shaft bearing went bad....

If it were to be the trow out bearing it would be backwards, noise with the clutch engaged..!!!

I still drove mine like that..nothing happened...!!
Good luck..:thumb:

im gonna sound dumb.... whats an imput shaft bearing =\

how hard is it to fix a input shaft bearing. ive been readin and ppl say input shaft bearing= rebuild? i dont have the money to rebuild or buy another transmission..

You need to open the tyranny to replace it...If you do that you might as well rebuild all of it...
Or buy a new one, with the risk of being bad....
If you don't have enough money try to use you car the least possible...until you save up money to fix it...

And at the same time might as well replace your clutch and trow out bearing..!!
