Hows my Hx35 downpipe and WG dumps look?!

You suck at everything!!!!!!!!!!!

JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!! I think it all looks very good, welds could use a littlemore practice but anyone who welds has been at that stage at one point in their life and knows you just dont' become a master "weldor" overnight

The reason everyone is worried about proxcimity to the oil filter is for oil changes..sucks to drop the DP just to change the oil filter.. You may have to work on the driver's side dumptube, it looks like it will come out hitting that front to back member that holds the front roll-stop motor mount

*note.. my spelling of "weldor" is not a typo, but rather a term that we use to describe some one who's gotten very good at or masteredtheir craft of welding... another one we use in free-masonry is "artificer" which means (to us) a cunning or skilled worker of metals (it has a lot of other definitions in the dictionary online)

ANyway, keep up the good work and get us a video when you can :thumb:

Thanks Glenn. The driver side dump is close to but doesnt dump on the crossmember.. I could add a little turn down to it, and I think I still might.. I know my welding isnt great but it is getting better. My better welds were welding TO the flanges since its thicker, I burned through the 3" a few times. It doesnt help that our welder is kind of old.. There is only two adjustments on it, I believe pulse (1-4) and wire speed.. But it works and gets the job done, its usually used for our durby cars anyways..

Ill get you guys some more pics soon as I can. And a video will be made just like Peepers hx35 t/s spool response video. /J is going to help me with that when the time comes! I cant wait to even see what the 15lb wg springs are going to feel like with this thing!! Let alone 30psi!!

I wouldn't worry about using mitered turns in the dump tube. It will work regardless. I think you'll be ok with getting the oil filter off. You won't want to change it when that pipe is hot, or you'll have charred knuckles, but I wouldn't go changing the oil when it is still flaming hot under there anyway. I too have used those Toughgaurd filters for many, many years and have never had any issues from them. Just give it a good, thick heat wrap until it clears the 90 below the pan, and I would bet you'll be ok. I would still make a little heat shield that would fit over the back of the alternator, but other than that, I think it looks real good. :thumb:

Heres some more pics for ya Glenn!

Pie cuts are your friend.

I have the same HX35, which I think looks a lot cleaner than the vertical wastegate version. I made mine a V-band downpipe though.

Wow, cant believe I forgot to update this. The holset has been on the car a little over a week now and doin great. Still havent had time to really dial it in so Im still on waste gate pressure (15 psi). I had some issues with my passenger side dump tube, it rubbed a hole in my radiator two days before I took a trip. So, needless to say I had to burn ass to get everything ready.. But heres some pics.

Wow.... That looks very intimidating. I would be very hesitant to challenge that unless I knew I was bringing some serious power. It looks awesome!

Thanks man.. Unfortunately my fuel system is going to be the limiting factory this season.. When I finally decide to make the switch to E85 I will be able to put down high 400s possibly into the low 500s. But on a single non-rewired walbro 255 and 1000s we will see what she'll put down!! Ill get the max I can out of it the way it is then next winter Ill address the fuel system some more!

You said you did a wire tuck? I'm noticing the harness on the firewall and the fuse box there up front, did I miss something?

Man, as bad ass as that looks, I would donate a fuel pump to the cause. It's a in tank pump though, so it wouldnt help much... But a set of inline 255's can't be too much more than as much as you had to have spent in that ss tubing or welding wire. My 255HP only cost me $58. If you can weld that up, you can make a dual inline split pump feeder to the rail cheap.

Just out of curiosity, is that just a red painted valve cover, or a JDM red top 6 bolt?

Looks as tucked as it could possibly be without chopping the OEM harness up to me... You have to put that trunk somewhere, and high on the firewall would be my choice too, as long as it were alone... As it is here.

WTF

What is with a Gatorade bottle with a hose going in the top? Is it a G2 Catch Can? ROFL I just noticed that... :D

That header is making me want to build one for the T3 20g I just got... I don't know if I could make it look quite as good though.

Its my makeshift overflow bottle for coolant.. The VRspeed IC pipe doesnt allow for the stock one so I just put that in there to have something...

I didnt make the manifold.. RedJack racing did.. Check out their stuff on Facebook if youd like.. https://www.facebook.com/redjack.racing.7?ref=ts

And thanks Lofty!! Was good to see ya make it up to Automotion.
