im in the process of a complete rebuild of my motor and before i took transmission of i had an issue with my clutch it would only engane half way up and it was hard to get into gear.

ive read several thread about replacing the shift fork and pivot ball and sometimes even shimming to make sure its at the right spot.

im gana be running an ACT flywheel (was resurfaced)
and an XTD stg 4 kit with sprung disk (new).

my questions are the following:

how do i take shift fork of?
and whats the part number for the pivot ball from Mitsubishi?

i already searched and couldn't find answer to these questions so thanx in advance if you can help me out.

i am not sure about a shift fork but there is a clutch fork that can be shimmed to help with your clutch issue. but to pull it off all you need to do is after you pull the trans off the engine, reach in the bell housing grab a hold of it and yank... it is only held on by a little metal clip kind of like some of the interior parts. and unless the pivot ball looks like it needs to be replaced then i wouldn't worry about it just put some grease in the clutch fork before you put it back together. here is something on the clutch adjustment, all the way at the bottom at the page... thanx for all the helpful responce and thank you for the part number. i think im goin to shim the pivot ball first to c how that goes depending on how used the parts are.
if not ill just go ahead and buy a new ball and fork.

thanx again.:thumb:

well the motor is out also since im rebuilding it at the moment so i can just attack the tranny to it check the fork placement and get it right before putting everything back in LOL.

but i do see your point and thanx for looking out i appreciate it.:thumb::thumb:
