Hey im getting ready to purchase dsmlink, and i found a brand new Accer laptop for really cheap, but the problem is that you have to have the DB9 hook up or something along those lines, and this laptop doesnt have that hookup. Is there any adapters or anything that i could use to make it work? oh and also my car is a 1992 talon, and im getting the socketed version of dsmlink. thanxs

? I didn't say anything about connections.. I run the keyspan myself, which is why I recommended he get it thru them, its the cheapest, free shipping, was fast, etc And I even got mine sent to fld and then onto canada.

Yeah so i broke down and ordered it off newegg.com. $35 bucks shipped whereas the radio shack cable was nearly $38. Best Buy had the same dynex piece and price as Radio Shack. Target, Wal-Mart, and Circuit City didn't have sheeit, they just looked at me like i was stupid. I ordered the adapter yesterday at around noon and it's already en-route, maybe 20 miles away ROFL. Props to newegg.com for fast shipping! Oh yeah and it is a legit copy of Link, i'm just really impatient and i don't have a credit card at the moment.

Zeitronix also sells the adapter. It is down the ordering page a good ways. They sell it for $29.
