How To: DSM Throttle Body shaft seal install. The easy, fast and accurate way everytime.

Wanted to share this video as I have always used this method and while rebuilding a few Throttle bodies it was a good time to show its simplicity and effectiveness.

All it requires is M10 studding. 2 washers, 1 nyloc nut and 1 non locking nut! Thats it!!! Its a perfect tool and self levels every time perfectly

Could one use a M8 allthread so you don't worry about tearing a seal? Wouldn't it still pull the seals in "straight'?

Yes M8 could also work as once the washers have loaded up they are then straight also. Its not a huge issue with M10 wont rip if your careful but any size would be safe to use so M6 even with larger OD washers

We use a similar method to install 22-30mm ID bearings into carbon bicycle frames. Even using 1/2” all thread, it still squares the bearings up. So going undersize on the all thread is no big deal, maybe even preferred.
