Parts Needed
-Complete 6-Bolt Motor
-2g Turbo ECU
-2g Turbo UICP and LICP
-2g SMIC
-2g Turbo Knock Sensor
-1g, FWD 6-Bolt Flywheel
-2g (Driver's side) Motor Mount Trimmed to fit the 1g Water Pump Pulley
- MagnusMotorsports.com has a good write up on the motor mount "trimming"
** This Motor Mount Has to be used, as the 1g "L" bracket will fit, but it will alsomake the motor sit crooked. The motor mount goes on BEFORE the motor is put into the car.
-CAS Wiring for a 6-bolt in a 2g
- Also MagnusMotorsports.com
-2g Power Transistor
-2g ISC
-2g TPS
-2g Water & Oil Sensors
Special Steps to Take
-MAP sensor relocation is also necassary for this, being that the 1g motor doesn't utilize one. DSMParts.com carries an awesome piece for this, only costing about 35 dollars. The vacuum source on the piece is plastic, so just be carefull when tightening.
** If the motor is set up for an external oil cooler, just use an external oil cooler. There is no need to Use a 2g Water pipe, etc.
Inside of the Spyder transmission there is a "bump" that needs to be grinded down for the pressure plate to spin freely. To find where exactly the pressure plate hits, place the flyhweel on the transmission spline and spin it. Refer to the picture below.
The Fuel pump also needs to be rewired, which i found one of the easiest tasks of the swap. Follow steps 7 & 8 on Chad's page to do this. http://home.comcast.net/~chadnmichelle/ecuswap.htm
The last thing needed to be done, is to wire the knock sensor into your 2g ECU. This is basically self explanitory. Just ground the "ground wire" from the knock sensor, and run the other to pin 78 on the ecu.
