so i just got my ebay datalogger "harness" its got a serial plug at one end for the palm or laptop obviously, but the other end is just two black wires and a red one with spade connectors, for attaching to the pins of the diagnostic port.

so where do i connect each wire specifically?

The red goes on the upper left metal terminal. The two black wires go on the right, one all the way on the bottom and one third up from the bottom.

The ABS computer is grounded when the logger is plugged in, so don't worry if you have ABS and the light comes on. FYI, the ABS does not work with the logger plugged in.

If you bought a good cable the ABS light should not come on. Their are ways of controlling the current flow so the ABS Module isn't grounded with the cable hooked up.

Here are some instructions that came with my cable with a diagram for the hookup. I would also recommend you cover the spade connectors with shrink wrap so they can't accidentally touch the other wires.

I already posted the instructions on another thread. Here is the link http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1803730#post1803730

You will see under my reply the document attached. That should give you a good idea.:thumb:
