Is it OK to take it apart for cleaning? Any tips or hints?

I don't feel like breaking it or anything so just wanted to double check

Thank you

Is it alright that i already used some Carb Cleaner on it?

I got it all nice and clean on the outer sides but there is still a lot of gunk in-between the sheets

Maybe soaking it in mineral spirits, as mentioned, could take care of that..

I use a bottle of brake clean on mine when I cleaning it. There is a lot of crap that is in between the layers and that seems to get it out. I know some people disassemble and re-rivet but the brake clean option has held up to 3 re torques and 35 psi for me!

Tried soaking the MLS gasket in mineral spirits for about two days. Did help to clean it up some but there is still a lot of gunk in-between the layers. I don't think it will ever all come out without having to take it all apart.

Am i going to be alright just having it cleaned up the best i can?

I also have a new graphite gasket that i think would still work since i'm using L19's but all my surfaces have been milled so it's a perfect time to re-use the MLS.

Any more suggestions or advice? Thank you
