How to check knock on my 2g

Just a heads-up, you cant log knock on a 2G with a datalogger. You can watch timing, but cant actually log knock.

Like said above dsmlink is the only way to log knock on a 2g unless you install a standalone knock sensor. But with a logger you just log your timing and watch for drops in it and usually that means you may be getting some knock because the ecu is retarding the timing.

The link posted above won't work on a 2g, so don't waste your time. Without DSMLink, you can't log knock on a 2g. But you can estimate knock by looking at a log from a WOT pull. I've posted extensively about this in the past. You should be able to find something by searching with my username.

Ok so pain and simple i cant see my knock unless i get DSMLINK correct? So whats your guys advice untill i get dsm link? Mods are in my profile i have a wideband and SAFC2 on, with stock injectors, going to put 560's or 660 on it in acouple of months. Should i just play everrything safe onily running up to 15 pounds untill i can afford dsm link?

DSMLink is a great investment if you have the extra cash. If not, pick up a logger and go to town. I have almost the same setup you do and was running 20psi with SAFC / logger combination for years. Take your time tuning, ask a lot of questions and you'll be fine.

I read through posts by spyderturbo007 that look informative to me because he has helped me a great deal with tuning. Consequently, I read above that you may be looking for 550cc injectors. I shall probably be upgrading from my 550cc's in several months (not in only a "few months" though, due to Christmas spending). I already have the new injectors, but I'll need to invest in DSMlink, as advised by spyderturbo007, to use the bigger injectors and to use other parts waiting to be installed. So, PM me if you may be interested in the 550cc injectors (they are in excellent condition, look over my profile).

Look into evoscan, it can log knock on a 2G.
Or get a chip that converts the boost gauge into a knock gauge.
