I've been unable to connect to dsmlink with a newly socketed ecu. This is dsm number 2 for me and link works just fine on my other car so I don't believe it to be a computer/software problem. Ecu was socketed by Steve on here whom has an excellent reputation so I've ruled that out as well.

The port does have power but will not talk to link. Car does have a SAFC on it currently and some other stuff - I don't even know what wired in - so I'm thinking the wires must be messed up.

Thanks for any thoughts!

i say maybe the wiring but not being able to log into the link is a common problem. I couldnt get in because the computer I used. I think it didnt work because the computer i used had so many antiviral programs on it. im not sure but i say post this in the dsmlink discussion boards.

Alright, I posted over there and they said they have seen cases were other tuning units ground out the diagnostic port connection. The safc in the car looks to be connected to the same fuse (dome lights) as the port is wired to since it stays on with the key removed.

I'll be disconnecting it and reporting back in case this can help anyone else in the future.
