I know you can't adjust your base timing on the early 2gs but I just wanna make sure it's all correct. How do I go about doing this since I also have dsmlink? The timing is not adjustable.

Make sure the white mark on your harmonic damper is clean and bright. Some of them have a tendency to be dull or wear off, so if that's the case, just remark it.
Start the car and get it up to operating temp.
Fire up link, go to the Misc tab, and check the "Ground timing connector to ECU" box.
Connect gun and point at timing area on lower timing belt cover. This area has marks for 0-15° (shows a T at 0 and a 10, with hash marks between). You should see a white flickering dot around the hash between the T and 10 marks, which would indicate 5° BTDC.
Unhook timing gun, uncheck box in link, and you're done.

If it reads anything else but 5°, then you either have a harmonic damper that's started to separate/spin or another issue elsewhere.
