How to change FP -4 Filter element???

I'm having to change the element in it for the first time but can't for the life of me figure out how to get the sucker out. I've tried using a pick, screw driver, etc. I just can't get it out. So what are you guys using? I emailed FP about it but no reply back yet. I'm sure they're busy with more important things after coming back from the holidays though.

Dig it out using any/all of the above to the best of your ability- I've had a few really subborn ones that I end up destroying the element 100% upon removal. Make sure you have the new one on-hand before attempting extraction unless you're prepared to run it with no element until the replacement arrives.

Yeah, I have the new element ready. Was just afraid of jacking up the threads if I slip. I've already slipped a few times and it makes me nervous, so didn't know if anyone else had a better method. Thanks though.

Wow, I think mine just simply fell out when I tapped the housing on the work top a few times.

I use a drywall screw to lightly catch the basket and pull. Doesnt damage anything. Same works for injector baskets

I simply took an allen head hex key that fit down then male side of the filter and tapped the filter out, easy!
