How much would it cost to replace a crankshaft, and clutch on a 97 gst?

Rather vague. If you want to go with a reman crank from a local parts store and an aftermarket OEM style clutch. Id say $700 to be safe. Thats just the price of stated parts. Then you will have to figure in new oil pan gasket/rear main seal, timing belt, balance shaft belt or eliminator kit. It get kinda spendy. I can guarantee you the cost of repairs if taken to a shop will be twice what the car is worth.

If you have the abilitys and resources for a DIY I could see you spending safely $1000.00

These figures are just estimates as there are several brands/qualities of parts on the market once again it depends on what your wanting to do with the car.
