How much did you pay for your DSM?

1st and only DSM. Paid $1500 for a completely stock 152,000 mile 1990 Talon TSi AWD in 10/05. Proceeded to drive it for 3 weeks and broke the timing belt (which was just replaced before I bought it along with head work because of the same event) bending 8 exhaust valves in the process. Car has been on jack stands ever since. $2100 later I have a JDM engine in the garage getting prepped to drop in. Just waiting on the new axles, clutch, timing kit, b-shaft eliminator and lower gasket set to arrive.

I hope I get to drive this bi*** for more than a few weeks next time.

$4,500 for my GS-T which was too much considering I have had to spend about $8,000 just to get it running the way it supposed too with a few minor upgrades. My wife wants me to stop pouring money into it though. Kinda hard to stop upgrading once you start.

'92 Laser 1.8 for 3500 with 86,000 miles, mint. '90 GS-T for $1500 back in late March '05 with 137,000 miles and in descent shape. Since then sold the '92 and put over $2,000 in the GS-T.

$3,000 for my 93 talon TSI AWD with a rebuilt motor and a big 16g. Too much to list Mint conditon. Almost had a B.M when I test drove the car! 3 grand for new car and im running 13's...cant do that with a VTEC .

I traded 2 subs and an amp for my Talon with 90,000 Km on the engine and 200,000 on body it and needed a tranny, cv joints and misc. bolts I havent started it but I cant wait to drive this beast. Every time im on the forum and hear about people talking aobut there dsms it makes me so jelious

just paid $175 for a 90 tsi auto (no tranny) with a perfect interior and good 6 bolt motor, it was a ditched timing belt operation. I bought it sitting on a pile of cars at a junk yard last week. The body is bashed other than the hood and the quarter panel that I need.

93 talon es for 1200.. 1 week after i bought it i spun a rod bearing putting it out for about 6 months i then turned it into a project at school and bought a engine with 48000miles on it. then just recently i cracked the tranny which put me back a bit cuz i got stiffed $300. but other than that the car is in pretty much mint condition.

97 GST $7000, just bought monday. only 60k miles on it. probably the CLEANEST engine i've ever seen on a used car. it was cleaner than my lancer that i traded in for it. which had less than 30,000 miles on it.

My 90' FWD TSi set me back $3,500 (couldnt find any around, mine was at a we-finance car dealership) so i got screwed a little bit, 2 months later the engine blows. As-is no warrenty. Since then i've put another $3500 on it :-(.
