We all know that the 4g63 motor is pretty strong, but since the last time you rebuild it how many miles have you add to your odometer?
did you do the rebuilt yourself?

550 miles!!!, and yes I rebuilt it
about 5k on my rebuild, and i did it myself. holding up to 60-1 pressure at 25psi too.. stock internals

I think I had around 7k on mine but pulled it to around 8k in 3rd then shifted to 2nd instead of 4th. Im not sure of the damage because I havent pulled it yet to see what happened. All of a sudden, it started making a ticking noise and knock count when through the roof. Its been parked for almost 2 months but I did crank it up the other day to pull it up onto the trailer so I could move it to my new house. Still has over 100psi oil pressure but the ticking is still there, not at idle but 1500rpm and ^. Just gives me a good reason to build a 2.4. Hopefully be back together before gt8 :thumb:

Bought the car with a rebuilt engine. From Victor Research, so yeah they rebuilt it. About 35,000 thousand miles. 1g rods/2g pistons, 180psi all across. Taking boost everyday! About 20psi all the time. I regularly change the oil Mobil 1 Synthetic 10w30 all the way. Everything around the engine has been changed. Tranny, axles, brakes, suspension, mods, mods and more mods. Still running strong knock on wood.

I bought my car about a year ago and it had just had the motor rebuilt before I bought it. I got it from a guy who buys dsm's and fixes and rebuilds them then sells them. I got it at about 95,000 miles now it has almost 113,00. So I've put around 18,000 miles on it since the rebuild. Completely stock bottom end 6 bolt still has 155 psi across the board and I've had it up to 24 psi of boost at the track. Change the oil every 3,000 miles with Mobil 1 10w30 synthetic and Fram filter. Hopefully it'll hold up to a B-52 with upwards of 20 psi with a front mount and 680's when I get that this summer. :thumb:

About 6000 miles on my 9:1 Wiseco/Eagle Combo... I had a shop do the build.

Yeah, im currently rebuilding mine, brand new oil pump, 2g/1g piston-rod combo, new bearings all around, gaskets, arp studs, balance shaft elim, etc

And I was just curious how everyone else's rebuild was holding up...

Keith: hope your new 2.4 rebuild last alot longer!,

I re-ringed my motor, put in a MLS and ARP's. Also removed the balnce shafts.

About 10k on mine so far.
Hasnt poped yet on 28psi and a to4e 50trim. I even over reved on a launch last week (8680 RPM) and no signs of any damage.

I rebuilt mine by myself. 2g pistons 1g rods, no balance shafts. Has about 25k on it since the rebuild. I lost a timing belt about 2 months ago that bent all 8 intake valves so I went back in with 1mm OS valves. Bottom end still going strong.

~30,000 miles on mine, and rebuilt myself using Eagle rods and Ross pistons at 8.5:1. Thought the first rebuilt lasted about 5 miles until my crankshaft bolt became loose and took my timing belt with it....THREADLOCK!!

1,700 miles so far.I built the motor myself. Just started puting 15 psi to it and beating the hell out of it.

I rebuilt my 6 bolt myself last summer. It was a basic rebuild with all new Fedral Mogual rings and bearings, new timing components, ARP's, and a rebuilt head.

My car sees a lot of daily driver miles and quite a few 20lbs boost passes down the track. I have about 13,000 miles on the motor since last summer when I rebuilt it. Did all the work and honing myself and it turned out to be a succesfull project. There is always a few kinks to work out the first hundred miles, but rebuilding your motor is a very gratifying project.

Now I am really hoping to tackle a G4CS 2.4 ltr project this summer. :sneaky:

34k on my 6bolt, 1g rods 2g pistons no balance shafts sees 26psi daily with a 60-1. I haven't had an issue yet and I did all the work my self.
