Hey My name is Rob and I always hear about how many miles are on peoples Honda's, and Toyota's but I understand that most of them are not turbo, and I have been told that turbo cars dont last nearly as long as N/A cars do. But anyways it would be cool if everyone could share how many miles there cars have. I kinda want alittle reassurance that when I get a DSM it will last over 100 thousand miles, (Of course it will be well maintained and taken care of.) Thank you all in advance.

Rob.

i have a 95 tsi awd, with 164000 miles on it.. 7-bolt, w/2600, 50 trim, fmic, 21 lbs of boost and i beat the living hell out of it.. still running strong.. love it..

AWD Tsi about 105,000 and in the process of a new motor

FWD Tsi 96k also in the process of a new motor as well....

I wouldnt even wanna ask bout the tranny though i know stock dsm trannys have always been shit to me...

since you mentioned the whole n/a cars running longer i would halfway disagree but not saying anyones wrong just my opinion and expierences i got a turbo crx with a t-25 and blue tops and some other lil odds and ends nothing crazy but that motors got 200,000 on it and still will break em loose threw 3rd... and what about turbo diesels (never owned one) but from what ive heard the motors last longer than the shells of the car/truck... just my 2 cents...

If anyones interested in a Turbo Crx p/m me...

Well my white 92 Tsi has 244,8xx and has seen 22 lbs of boost since around 60,000. I've done track days, and run fast open for stage rallies, multiple cross country trips including a rather fast run with my parents and their 95 Tsi averaging 94 mph from Dever CO to St Louis MO in '99. That was a good time. The tranny has been rebuilt once, two clutches, 5 timing belts, 12 alternator rebuilds, and 1 turbo. 2 Wheel bearings, so many brake pads and rotors I should own stock in EBC, 1 set of front axles after a rather nasty rallycross, and 1 radiator.
Compression test last month showed 123, 125, 120, 125 and looked at thet rod and main bearings last june with noting intersting to report.

With the addition of the supercharger, it seems prudent to have an engine built to higher standards, I'll be looking into that over the next couple of weeks.

I think most modern cars will run a long time with proper care, high quality synthetic oil and good attention to details.

Its not because of the turbo that diesels last so long. There made to last a long time. We have a 1999 Cummins with 398k and its just now starting to break down and its only minor things.

1995 Talon TSI AWD Had 99,000 then the motor blew for the previous owner and now I have 3k on the new one. He was running a 16g with no sort of boost controller.

Wow mine seems to be the worst. I have 178k, everythings stock down to the clutch. Only thing ever replaced was the tires. All I have is a Greddy type RS BOV. The car still drives fine.

I drive it slow though.. so I guess thats the reason why its still alive..
