I'm finally gonna drop the 420a Beast LOL.. I live in NY which is known for shitty roads. But I basically drive smart and avoid them. As of now I have stock Rs rims on it. I'll be getting 18s in May but I wanna drop it a little now. Not to much for the performance side mostly show.. But I don't know how low I should drop it or what brand to go with.. I was looking into Eibach with KYB non adjustables..

What do yall think?!?

All I need is help on height and brands.. :thumb:

Hello, I remember when I had my 99 Acura TL and I dropped it. At first I did the grand slam of 2" front and rear........ The worst frackin mod ever... I found myself terrified of driving highway speeds because whenever you hit a dip in the road it seemed like the entire car was coming off the ground because of the lack of wheel travel I created from my 2" drop. The ride was very bouncy because of the higher spring rates that are necessary to try to keep the car from bottoming out. Lastly you will need the various kits sold to try to get the alignment back to stock which add up to even more money out of pocket. The car looked awesome, but it was pure hell to drive on these ragged azzzz streets in Jersey! So about 1 month after the swap I went to a 1" drop spring and it was a little better but if you want the best compromise I would stay stock or if you just have to do it 1" is the max. The looks are one thing but is it really worth it to have a harsh riding daily driver? just my opinion....

go as low as you want, just keep in mind that when you put on 18"s you might have clearance or rubbing issues. Also if its a DD think about ride quality you use. Hit a pothole and #### shit up

I wouldn't recommend the Pro-Kit if you're wanting to retain a streetable ride. I have the Pro-Kit on my 97 GST with KYB 4-Ways.

Horrible!

The drop was so much, that my 3" turbo-back scrapes on absolutely any raised surface. Not to mention the constant fear of any kind of incline (you take all Walmart entrances at an angle to avoid smacking the FMIC). Then there's the irreversible damage to my bumper cover. Split on both sides, horrid scrapes all along the bottom.

Sportline kit all the way. Much more "road-friendly."

I used the Eibach Sprtline for about 5 years when I had 17's. Great for that set up, but not for 18's. When I put 18's on, I had clearance issues. The tires rubbed on corners, bumps, braking, AND accelerating. I couldn't get those springs off fast enough.

Since the Eibachs performed well with 17's, and I only needed a 1/2" lift, I
swapped for the Pro Kit(1.3"vs 1.8"). Much better...no more rubbing, and I can see the whole tire again. It's amazing what you can get used to, because I thought the Sportlines rode decent, until I put on the Pro Kit. Far better road manners.
Definitely not BMW like, but not vertebrae compressing either.

Eibach Pro Kit, Koni Yellows, 235/45/18/tire.
