How low can you go?

alright! so a long long time ago i bought some coil overs (aerospeed) or something like that..i got a deal on them and i wasnt quite sure if they could be used on a 95 gsx or not...the only thing on the box is "95-99 eclipse" but regardless!

that was a long time ago...i have decided to not go with them due to i have no idea what model they are for...=[ and i want to go with a set of nice drop springs

my question is, how much could i drop my tsi awd? i have 18's and it doesnt look like theres much clearance for anything.

also what are some decent brands to look for? i was seing tein has gone down in price...maybe worth a buy?

Do not make it look stupid and riced out. Lower it some but don't make it ride on the surface of the road. All this money wasted to turn a car into a speed bump killer. Rant off and not really addressed to you personally. Be sure to leave room for performance. Good luck.

I have the tein flex setup right now and only lowered the car 2 inches. I'm satisfied with them because they ride smoother then my sisters Acura rsx base model on oem suspension. Also compatie with the edfc if you'll put it to use.

I like my megan racing springs...it has a 2 inch drop...keeps about a finger gap between my 17inch rims and the wheel well. Id post pics, but my car is dirty from the winter weather.

judging from this id say that you would be cutting it close... and also putting your car in danger of speed bumps, pot holes, and snow depending where you are... sounds like with 18 inch rims you would only be able to get 1"-1 1/2" drop... i would reccomend saving up for adjustable suspension instead of lowering springs... then you can choose your height and still have a good ride... this is just on observation and reading though i am not positive

I've got a 2 inch drop on my TSI fwd with 18x7" rims and I only rub ever so slightly when turning really hard to the right or turning up a real steep approach to a parking lot or driveway. KYB GR-2's with Eibach springs, pretty decent ride quality too. drove from San Diego to Oregon and back.

Check my gallery pictures for a 2 inch drop. It had Megan springs on it that they previous owner installed the weekend I picked it up. Personal thoughts on the Megan springs are after maybe a year they start going downhill. Were they Cheap, yes. Will they last no and that is coming from my own experience and not the general " oh I heard Johnny say his third cousin's best friend has them and they're great". If you want cheap go for it or eBay but if you want something nice, save a little. As far as my 2 inch drop goes... I personally like it! Just get a warning sticker that says caution lowered vehicle there is a weight limit to get in this car

Haha I know how that feels, on my 96 camaro if i had anyone in the back i couldn't even hit the slightest bump without rubbing

I have tein super streets. theyre adjustable ride height and i got them for cheap so thats the direction i went. TEIN makes quality stuff . Eibach, H&R, and ground control all make quality springs if you go that route. My dad had H&R's on his mercedes for 5 years without any problems. Personally I believe that all springs will sag a bit after fatigue from so many cycles so be careful going with an advertised 2" drop. There was a thread a while back on suspension setups with pictures
