burnaby,
I've been looking for a 1g awd for a while now. I checked my local classifieds and found a 93 green tsi awd. I went and checked it out, its at a local performance shop where the owner was contacted by some guy out of town who had the car with a seized motor. Apparently the guy from out of town bought it off his friend because his friend was going to jail or something... Anyway, the owner of this shop bought the car with the seized motor and dropped a 6bolt engine with unknown mileage in there. The car runs now, has new timing belt, tensioner and stuff but needs new valve seals and has a small oil leak. Also, the stereo needs to be rewired to work, and there seems to be a non functioning clifford alarm. The body itself seems to be in decent shape, except one tire is messed, but he's throwing in an extra used tire to replace that with (not a big fan of only chaning one tire though). He's asking 5600 canadian dollars for it, do you guys think its worth it? seems like it might need a bit of tlc before it works properly...

that price sounds like a rip off to me. specially because of the year, the unknown amount of miles on the motor, and the problems it has.
