well i am well aware of what a destrocker takes to build. i just want to be able to have fun with my car tell my build is done im not sure if im going to keep my 16g for now or use my freinds fp3065 setup he wants me to buy from him. could my stock 7 bolt hold that turbo tell then or should i stick to my e316g. the flywheel cltuch thing is just a worry of mine i would rather burn stock clutches up and not advance cranck walk but if i could get a way with a 2100 or 2600 for now i would.

ok guys i have a 7 bolt motor that i bought from mittsu and has 30,000 miles on it now. it was brand new when i got it. what are my limits with it i am scard to put a bigger clutch in it and cause crankwalk again. my mod list is updated and i get my dsmlink tomorrow ecu is socketed and ready.i plan on building a destoker over the next year and doing a all wheel swap to so i need my motor to last but i also want to have fun. i am ordering in the next month a sbr frount mount for a 2g and a uego wideband. so tell me what you think i can do over then next year with her tell im done with my build.

thanks

matt

why do you want to destroke it, the 4g63 is a square engine, already great for revving

Tom, I think he's saying that he he's going to get a 4G64 (or g4cs) block and drop a 4g63 crank into it. W/ a little piston work, you have a 2.1 that is rumored to rev better than a 63. Because the rod/stroke ratio is even better. If this is not the case then, to the original poster... you need a 2.4L 4g64 block. You can't destroke a 2.0 to a 2.1. That makes me laugh to say to myself... But, I'm sure you know, right?

But Tom has a point. How high to you want to rev? do you have a reason to rev to that number (other than bragging rights)? Do you know what John Shepard has done w/ a stock bore/stroke 63 engine? A transmission that will shift high enough to make the 2.1 "destroker" worth the investment is an absolution. That's 2,100 bones right there! just food for thought. I don't know all the research you've done. He!!, you could be the next Shep/Tort. . .

your question is some what in the realm of how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie role, not trying to sound rude or anything, but it's really how you drive your car and what happens to your car for instance your motor can go at any time timing can jump and bam, I've seen a guy buy a car didn't get 40 miles from town and motor just went (7 bolt) don't be scared to put stuff on your car, I'd just go with a act 2100 for clutchs, your motor can last 100,000+ miles if maintenance is done right.

Yea, but his 7 bolt rods can't handle but so much. I don't think he wants to stop adding mods becasue there's a hole in his block... And the 1Ga rods can handle substancially more. So he's trying to get a clerification...

I've never seen or heard of a 7 bolt 2g dsm go much over 500whp. So stop somewhere before there. For reliability? how much less you go to that point is how much more reliable you are. For the inexperienced tuner, a good tune by a reputable dyno shop is invaluable to getting the most out of your engine w/out going to internals.
