How long does a cat last for?

So my car has 193K on it. Think the cat may be spent?

If you do an exhaust upgrade then i would replace it anyway, but if your emissions and performance havent been hampered, then it should still be good, but it wouldnt hurt to replace it either. Only way to tell if it iis bad is if you take it to get emissions tests doen and they are out of spec, or if it is clogged you will feel a definent power loss.

That depends on a lot of variables some last more than others but if you have 193k I would replace it regardless.

i say if u dont have emissions then do a cat delete exhaust will flow alot better

They normally have nine lives...from what I can remember. haha but really, if it's not rusted out and leaking then it's prob good to go

If it's clogged you would know it..Great loss of power and even in the daytime you can see it glowing red..

I say replace it, or cat delete if you have no emmisions testing..

Ya, I'm 185K with the original CAT and I passed the sniff test with it.

Course, if you think you're losing power and don't have the fundage for a new CAT, you could drill an 1/8" hole at the head of the CAT intake to relieve backup pressure-makes a big difference when you pop that hole in.

You can always adopt another from the animal shelter

If u don't have emmision testing just delete the cats

Yep, Connecticut has emission testing and they check for them at most stations. Isnt really a big deal got to much power anyways....
