im hopefully getting my reenlistment bonus soon, somewhere between 10,000 to 25,000, after i pay off some of my bills i plan to take a good portion of the money that is left and get some parts. this is what i am looking at so far.... fuel pump, rail, regulator, injectors, maybe stainless lines if i can find them, apexi downpipe, greddy evo2 cat-back, as far as manifold and o2 sensor housing i haven't come to a conclusion on what turbo upgrade yet (too many choices), FMIC, and apexi SAFC should about complete this. what turbo should i look into getting? my brother i looking to buy an 03 cobra w/ a few mods, i dont need to outrun him yet just dont want to get my doors blown! and aside from the stuff listed above is there anything else i should get. already have blitz boost controller, probably gonna get rid of it and get the profec bII. thanks.

Looks like a pretty complete list to me. Try to get short route piping with the FMIC and if you can't then you will need to get an UICP to replace the crappy stocker. As far as a turbo goes I would suggest a 50 trim.

10k-25k for reenlistment whats your rate? and there going to tax the crap out of it and your not getting the whole amount up front. you get half then the rest is divided among the paychecks you reenlisted for. so say you get 10k they tax some you end up with 6k then you get in your account 3k the other 3 thousand is divided through paychecks. so say you re-upped for 4 more years you take 2 paychecks a month thats 3k split for 96 paychecks. thats how they get you. so your looking at it like your going to have 10k to 25k to play around with. if your reenlisting you will know how much your making by this here.

1. look up your base pay on the military chart.
2. Determine your reenlistment zone. (how many years you've been in)
A- 21 months to 6 years
B- 6 years to 10 years
C- 10 years to 14 years
3. look up the current bonus multiplier for you MOS (rate)
4. Multiply your monthly base pay by the Bonus Multiplier (BM X BP)
(bonus multiplier x base bay)
5. Multiply the result by the number of years you are reenlisting for.
6. The result is the total amount of your reenlistment bonus. One-half will be paid upon
reenlistment, and the rest divided to pay annually.

i hope this puts it into better perspective for you.

p.s. your best bet is to reenlist in a tax free zone. say if you were on deployment over seas and you entered a tax free zone i would rush to get it done there. that way when the give you "10k" you keep it all. still it gets split in half like stated but you pocket more.

This calls for one of those OWN3D pictures, but I am at work and cant look one up. Just imagine the funniest OWN3D picture you have ever seen. Then remember that I posted it!

LOL I Love it when guys re-enlist and say they're getting a $15,000 bonus. It's like they forgot what happened when they got their first bonus: they only got half after Basic(which was taxed), then their UA forgot to file the paperwork for the next 3 payments.

So let's be honest with ourselves...you signed up for another 4 years of abuse and your bonus will end up being $250. That'll buy you one bling bling rim.

You guys don't know that for a fact.

If he is smart he is reenlisting in a combat zone. (which is probably anywhere in the Middle East right now) That way he pays ZERO taxes on SRB.

Also, there are some jobs that have insane reenlistment bonuses. Nuclear trained rates in the
Navy get up to 15,000 per year. And when they reenlist, the rest of the time on the current enlistment is reset for SRB purposes. I saw people with 3 years active duty and 3 years left till EAOS, reenlist for 6 years but effectively only extend themselves for another 3 years. But they got a full 6 year reenlistement bonus. There are caps however. When I was in, the cap was around 60k. So if someone played their cards right and reenlisted at the perfect time, they could get 30k direct deposit and another 30k paid out over so many years.

Of course you're crazy to take the money. You can make three times what the military pays in the private sector if you're really that knowlegable. :sneaky:

and that is why i asked what rate he was, i could of let him know what amount he was looking at getting. I'm an aviation electronics technition and a couple years ago i was looking at reenlistment packages around 30k now that the rate is over maned its more like 3k. so yes i do know. :thumb: it depends on the manning and it also depends of what your n.e.c is for your rate. so any military pay questions or other military related questions anyone has let me know i would be more then willing to help you out. :thumb:

His question was not about how much his bonus was going to be it was about his list of parts and what turbo would work good with that.

With the parts you listed, honestly you don't need a fuel rail. The stock one flows just fine.
The size injectors you get will be based on your turbo. Since i am assuming you want a lot of power. Go to the 2g tech guides and follow those along with the free mods. Its really the best way to make power...gets everything in order for you.

hope this helps, thanks for serving in the military

I would also second getting the piping on your fmic short route. Also don't forget to get a boost gauge and mbc. Also don't forget to purchase a logger you can't tune anything with using it. Skip the rail for now, the stock fuel rail is sufficient for the power your are making now.

As for a turbo goes what are your goals HP wise?? We need that so we can recommend a turbo for your needs.

Hope this helps. Stay boostin.

I wish my career field had a re-enlistment bonus...Stupid Air Force. 2 years ago i would of gotten like 30k but now I get and handshake and a slap on the ass. Oh well...I'm in pakistan saving money that I would be spending on gas, chicks, and booze.

As far as your upgrades...Definately get your logging (depending on how big you plan on going a simple palm pilot set-up should do you good) and gauges (Boost, EGT, Oil Pressure) first. You'll be able to monitor your progress and some of the problems that you'll run into better.

thanks to those of you that actually answered the question at hand. i would like to be making somewhere around 300, i read the tech sheet but wasnt sure turbo to get and figured you guys could help me with that one. dont know if it matters but im less for drag and more for track, autocross, that kinda thing. hope that helps some.

as far as the rest of you....i know im not getting the full amount, its money from the government. but i will get all at once, all of my friends both downrange and stateside and after taxes recieved the rest within 2-3 weeks. and for you SGT Garren i love when NCO's think they know everything, just think when you make SSG you should be even more arrogant. if you would like to charge me with disresepct to an NCO have at it.

gary 420a rs, as far as my reenlistment goes, not sure how long im gonna go for 4 or 6yrs guess that will be determined by the bonus, which i will know the first week of jan when the senoir career counselor comes down. the inital bouns when you go to basic is like you said half then and then payments with the other half but reenlistment is a little different they just tax you and give it all to you. my field is pretty small, im a bomb dog handler, i should know just how much i will get in about two weeks.

thanks wingzgsx i had been looking at those kyb's and maybe springs but i really dont want to lower the car much. also had talked to some people about tein coil-overs. the only price i was given on those was 1200 bucks.

One thing I didn't see on your list...

00-05 GSXR 600, or 750. Trust me your wasting your time with the car. I have like 15K into my car and the 5500$ bike gets all the love. :thumb:

i want a bike but as soon as i buy one i need to make funeral arragements!!!! not that i have any better chance of living through a car crash at 100+ mph

Perfect reason why I never even thought about enlisting for ANY military. I make way more money then any of my friends in the military, I party, I got money in my pocket, and I drive my dsm's every day.

F all that, it's all a scam under a different name.

justin99gst, you might wanna get a water temperature gauge if you end up getting your FMIC, as well as a EGT gauge for sure.

droopy209, this is true you make more money on the outside world i just couldnt afford to go to college so why not let the army pay for it, then get out and make more money, i dont plan on making a career. and i wouldnt listen to the garren fellow, just cause he put SGT infront of his name doesnt mean hes smart, e-5 is handed out like free samples in a mall food court.

water temp gauge...im guessing theres overheating problems with a front mount, i might be wrong but does that come from about half the radiator being blocked? does this only happen with stock radiators?

yea u won't see e-5 unless you unless you been in the corps for about 6 years. whats this BS about bonuses I've never heard of this shuttlebutt. sounds like fubar to me. besides everyone knows army and air force recruits are a dime a dozen. :dsm:

Yep, the front mount is going to me covering up your a/c condenser which is in the way of the radiator.

Most people notice an increase in water temperature on their dataloggers after a FMIC install.

Better safe then sorry.
