Okay, it's been 12 years since I did mine, but I might be able to help.

You have to remove the center console and the side-panels around the stereo (next to your feet and the passenger's feet).

There's an order to it, and you should be able to figure it out...I did without any instruction. Some of the screws are hidden. It's like you have to remove the part around the shifter/ashtray before you can remove the panel around the head unit/AC controls, etc. I think you have to unscrew the head of the shifter (I have an manual tranny car, so I don't know about an auto if you have one). Also, I think one of the bolts is hidden under the ashtray...just open the ashtray and pull up on the door and it pops out to expose the extra screw.

One place that has some pictures is the Samborski (sp?) shifter bushing install instructions. That gets you down to the bare bones of the shifter mechanism which gets you close to the head unit.

Once you expose the sides and front of the head unit, it's bolted to the metal "box" in the dash with (I think) two small screws on each side.

Don't know how much that helps. Maybe someone else will jump in and tell you the *right* way to do this :p.

First pop off the plastic benzel that is arounf the a/c and controls. Then move your seats forward to expose the 2 screws on the sides of the arm rest on each side. Then pop out the ashtraya nd cup holder and take those 2 screws out. Auto the car must be taken out of park to get the console off, 5 speed just unscrew the knob and the boot will come off whne you pull it off. There are 2 screws by the a/c controls by the head unit. Then there is a light and 2 plugs on the cigarette lighter, and one for the ash tray. Should pull out by then. Then there are 4 screws holding the headunit on 2 metal brackets on the side of the unit. Then it just pops out.

And then....:p Thats about it, only a flat head required unless wiring is involved.
