how do you take off the bs belt??

After the timing belt and sprocket are off, you take the bs tensioner off and then take the bs belt off.

I never had problems with my 2g, I don't know to much about the 1g, but I have personally never heard of anyone running into this, although I only know like 2-3 people with 1g's.

well you can get it on easly with a 7 bolt but a 6 bolt it is very hard. thats what i have read on here

Oil pumps are different on the 7bolt motors i believe. You need to remove the sprocket to get the belt off.

Did you remove the trigger plate/spacer? After you do that just loosen the bolt for the BS tensioner pulley and the belt should just slide off the sprocket.

You need to remove the crank sprocket, not the sprocket for the oil pump.

YOu can use a sprocket remover tool but I've always just tapped the sides with a rubber mallet and pulled it off.

I'd assume your talking about the crank sprocket bolt. Yes you do have to remove it.

the way they say it i cant because the engine is out of the car, but what else would i be able to get it off? is there a tool i need

An impact wrench would be the easiest way.

Although I don't recommend it, I have heard of guys removing the valve cover and wedging some rags between the cams and the wall of the head (obviously requires the t-belt to still be on) to keep things from rotating.

You can also drop the oil pan and wedge a rag between the crankshaft and block to keep it from turning although I have never personally done it.

Just impact the bolt off and slide the sprocket off.

I did it to my six bolt. Its easy. Like already stated there is two was to do it. I was doing a rebuild on the whole motor, so i used the crank.To keep it from spinning i jammed it up. Then when you have that done pull the timing belt tensioner off, make sure you replace it with a brand new one when you retime the car. Then the timing belt will be removed. Then get an impact gun. Take the bolt off for the crank, everything should slid off. The balance belt tensioner should still be keeping it on there, loosen this bolt. That should be it.
