How do you run lower than stock psi with 1g parts

But... Why??? :idontknow: Well, since you can go no lower than what your wastegate spring will allow, you would either have to change to a lighter spring inside the wastegate actuator (which would be a pain), or you could put a spring on the wastegate flapper to help pull it open easier. I see no reason why one would want to do so though, so please explain. :|
 
You could unhook the flapper arm. Might get you down to 2-3 lbs. Of course then old lady's with walkers will blow your doors off.
 
Maybe he's trying to bolt a turbo onto an NA engine or something haha. Yeah, what Habitatguy said is correct, you'll drop 2 or 3 PSI by bypassing the boost control solenoid on the firewall. If you need it lower than 9 PSI you can buy lower pressure wastegate actuator springs.
 
Thanks for the replies the reason I want lower boost is because my laser used to be Turboed but the engine got swapped to a nt so I'm doing the turbo pistons I have almost everything I need expect the stronger pistons with lower compression and a thermo housein and a oil pan but yeah don't want to blow my engine so I want to be able to control my boost levels can a different boost controller do the trick? And a new wastegate ? I'd eventually would like to run stock boost then turn up the boost when I no my engine can handle it don't wanna blow up my baby just yet haha but going out with a bang would be a beautiful but painful end to my 23yr old Plymouth laser rs t
 
My cars a automatic so it has the 390cc injectors with a nt ecu It had The turbo ecu and it just had checke engine lights so we put a bt ecu I have 2 turbo ones auto the others manual ecu and 1 nt ecu I don't no if I have the turbo pressure regulator I think not sure if they kept it I it the turbo maf in there

The lowest you can technically go is about 8 or 9psi on the stock actuator. They seem to vary a couple PSI occasionally. I'm also having a margin of difficulty trying to understand what it is that you're saying on this post. So it's an NT block that you have the turbo parts for, but you're running Turbo 390cc injectors on an NT ecu? That alone would make the car run like crap.
 
So, you want to drop from 9.0:1 NT compression, to 7.8:1 turbo compression.

Either add another HG or change out the pistons.

NT ECU worked great with NT 240 cc injectors - stock injectors for the NT 4G63.

Ya, you're running pig rich with those 390's on an NT ECU.

That's why I want to turbo it cause I have almost everything I need the car starts fine and goes nice the car has mix of turbo parts already on it when I got the car

The car had the turbo taken out it has a lot of turbo parts on it I'm looking at adding 1 g pistons turbo ones obv the cars fine just wanna bring it back to stock without destroying it
 
Look into 2G pistons on 1G rods. That will allow you to keep a little more power under the curve than the lower compression 1G pistons.
 
No, as far as I know there is basically no difference between an NT head and a turbo head. I don't see why you would need to 'mill the head' to swap pistons. I'm just commenting on the fact that you were talking about swapping to 1G Turbo pistons. If you're going to go through the trouble to swap pistons at least get better ones than the 1G.
