Just like the titile says. Who here has done this themselves??? I want to know how you did it. Preferably 2g. I have been seacrhing hard on these forums and it seems that not too many people know whats going on with their cars and not many share in depth. I really want an in depth explaination.

Did you have to pull the motor?

How did you get to the belt tensioner?

Did you take off the cam gears?

I want to know exactly what you did youself for these two sensors. I just might make an article for those who need this kind of help with pictures.

Please help me as in I am already in need of time, and even more in need of a car.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. If it is, then please move to the proper area.

To get the crank sensor you will need to remove the fan belts, water pump pulley, harmonic balancer, upper and lower timing covers and then you can rotate the crank (clockwise with a 1/2" ratchet in the crank sprocket) till you can see the crank sensor and be able to take out the 2 screws and wiggle it out without un-doing the timing belt.

To get the cam sensor out you will need to compress the tensioner and undo the intake cam gear. Just make sure you mark the timing belt to the gear in a few places to make sure it goes back EXACTLY where you took it off and you can use zipties in a few spots to keep the gear attatched to the belt. Just be careful and take you time.

THANK you SOOOOOO much. Sounds like a job. I will undertake this after my final.

Thank you soooo damn much.

I'm assuming that's just for 95-96's

Yeah 97 + they put the CAS on the passengers side comming off the cam and out of the valve cover. I have bolth now with a 97 motor in a 95, only the 95 works though, I have just been too lazy to take the other one off.

Why do you have a 1995 sensor on there??

My car's a 95, I put a 97 motor in it but they changed the clip for the sensor as well, so I had two choices
1. cut my wires on the harness, put on a 97 clip, use the 97 CAS and hope my ecu read it the same.
2. put on my old CAS, and cam gear, run what I know works, and have a extra hunk of metal sitting on my engine untill I take the time to remove it.
Fortunatly the block has the old holes so it bolted right on.

Who better to take advise from? They also know sell a harness for the 6 bolt swap or 1G Cas on 2G for the people who cant read wiring diagrams yet want to mod cars.

Its a hefty price for parts your going to throw out.
