I just replaced my A/C compressor (will be doing an article on it pretty soon) and i put everything back and put on the belt, but the tensioner is way down beside the wheel well and there is no way i can get a wrench in there. Anyone have any suggestions?

there are two belts on the pulley. the alternator and the A/c. A/c is the on closest to the engine

If it is the one that connects to the alternator it also runs off the outer water pump pulley. If this is the belt you need tighten then the bolt on the alternator that makes it move up and down diagonally is used to tighten the belt.

no no no, on the front main pulley, there are two belts on it. There is a belt that connects to the alternator and water pump, and there is one for the a/c. I can see where to tighten it (its close to the a/c compressor, but i cant reach it.
here is a diagram. its as if you are looking directly at the engine bay. the front main pullet (you can see it if you take off the driver's side wheel) has a place for two belts. the one closest to the engine is the A/c belt and the one closest to the tire is the Alt/Water pump. I know how to tighten the alt (ive already done that) but i dont know how to tighten the ac one becuase i cant reach the tightener. Its to compact in that region and dont know how to get a wrench in there.

a/c left Alt. right

Maybe mines different because of the 6 bolt but the pulley directly attached to the water pump connects to the power steering pulley. Then the 2nd pulley on the water pump connects the alt and ac.
I think we need more opinouns, I've just confused myself.

i know what your talking about, i beleive its as simple as a decnt sized extension, and even a socket elbow to get to it. it is the 12 mm bolt that you turn over(right), and it raises the tensioner pulley, you had to have untightened it to get that belt off if you went the easy way, so it shouldnt be tough to get it back to tight.

well i kinda just cut the belt off. It was kinda stupid of me. So just get an elbow socket wrench and put it in there? i guess that makes sense. thanks for the help.
