How do i test my TCU

I have a 91 talon tsi awd and it is stuck in third gear and reverse is harsh when it engages. I have been reading on the forums this most likely is due to the TCU going bad. Which pins on my TCU should i test??

If it's stuck in third gear your tcu is shot, or not hooked up..Check the fuse too..

Where is the fuse located at?

The fuse for is in the kick panel on the left of the drivers side floor..You might be able to get at it withought removing the kick panel..I always just take mine off when checking fuses..It only takes a phillips screw driver..And It's only one screw..

i checked the fuses they are good. At this point im feeling its the TCU

has your check engine light come on because normally if it's the tcu it should come on

The check engine light will come on randomly but does not stay on.
