How the heck do I get this off

Just like daren_p said, use a pry bar and give it a good push to pop the axle out. What I do is wedge a pry bar between the transmission and axle cup the best I can and then kick it. You can also try with a long (and strong) flat head screwdriver first to get a little separation and then use the pry bar.

U shouldn't have to take anything off the transmission once you unbolted the engine from it. Drop the passenger side and the cross member mount and the engine should come out. If u have any problems call me 6319019405
