Ok so I picked up another 91 Talon TSi AWD. The kid that had it before me totally trashed it. So he busted out the sunroof, no big deal I replaced it. But when he had it,it sat for god knows how long and the head liner was ruined. So whats he do? He throws up some cardboard and puts speaker box carpet up WTF .
So I rip all that crap down and find he has like 1/4" of brown silicone on the roof. How in the hell can I get that off of there?

ROFL! haha.. i dunno if goo gone is strong enough to remove that but you might wanna try that... sound like you have your work cut out for you. :toobad:

I guess Im gonna have to use a god damn orbital sander to get it off. I dont know what else to do. I was also thinking about completly gutting the car and using paint thinner or sonething else but I dont wanna do that if I hav to.

if it is silicone Im guesing it is kinda rubbery... Might try a sharpened putty knife. sharp soit will slice through, but flexible so you dont cut the crap outta your roof.

Can I start laughing now??

Good luck.

Totally agree with HighPsi92GST and everyone else...I was lazy and used a grinder to take silicone out, NEVER AGAIN it made a huge mess and more time then me just sitting scraping it off hope this helps :)

Brad :)

it would prolly be easier too if u use like a razor blade or a scraper and get it hot. like put a lighter under it and get the metal scraper or blade hot then the blade would go through the silicon like butter. just a thought, it works good on windshields

If this silicon is hard, it may not be silicone at all, it may be "Liquid Nails" or some other high strentgh adhesive.
If so you'll need to get a belt sander with some 80 grit belts and let it rip....
Don't forget eye protection, a hat of somesort, and a dust mask at least.
