How do I remove this plug?

How do I remove this plug from the front case? I have a new case I'm doing a BSE on, and it didn't come with the cover for the bolt that goes there to hold the stubby shaft.

If I can't get it out, what are my options? Just leave it open? Close it another way? Pics below, plug circled in red:

Uhm well the make castle sockets. But I just put a screw driver on the edge and smacked it with hammer. Been working fine.
